Our New Adventure in Texas

Hello Family & Friends,

You're probably thinking, oh no, another blog! Several of our close friends have blogs, which have enabled us to stay connected to their heart and what's going on in their lives.......so I am going to attempt the world of blogs! I value each of you and want to stay connected to you.

Well, Drew and I successfully made our 15 hour journey across country last week and are getting settled back into Texas. We loved our home, friends, neighbors, co-workers and church family in Tallahassee and it was hard to leave. Thank you so much to everyone who helped us with the move & then unpack - it was quite a task!

Being in Florida for 3 years, I've almost forgotten what Texas was like. I forgot about the HUGE trucks, cowboy hats (and belt buckles, wranglers --- the whole 9 yards), people wearing camo in the grocery store, or worse....camo trucks! One thing I don't mind seeing is the cheap gas.....I never thought I'd see $1.91 ever again!

Drew has started the academy and I have briefly spoken with 2 times. From what I've heard he is loving it! It's perfect for him - out in the middle-of-nowhere hill country of Texas. It will be a challenge for him, but he sounded so excited for this new adventure. He's going hunting at the Deer Lease this weekend with all the guys in the family --- doesn't get much better than this for him.

All of the game warden trucks --- Drew's can't wait for one!

The Classroom

Alexander --- He's the first on the left. No room for napping when you're at the front! He has 7 hours of class a day.

When we said there wasn't much out there - we meant it! There are 6 or 7 dorms like these. Drew said he has a great dorm of guys.

I love my new cozy home - it is the perfect size for me and Rookie.

I feel like I'm living out on the plains of Texas -- it's very open here and WINDY! One perk of the openness is that I can roll over in bed and see the sunrise.....beautiful.

Our town is so cute and I am so blessed to have my good friends the Busti family 5 minutes down the road. Amy and I are starting pilates together - one of my passions!

Ally Beth invited me to go on her date night with her mom, Amy, and Baby Caleb!

We've already gotten to see most of our family and I've traveled to see friends and to do business. We love having our family only 2 hours away!
My sister, Lauren, and mom came and we went shopping in Salado (after mom helped me for 4 days unpack my house!)

Even though transition is always challenging we know we are in the place the Lord has for us. He has clearly provided beyond more than we could ask or imagine! To see Him working so clearly in our lives is amazing.

Much love,
Jessica
PS - not every blog will be this long, I just had a lot to update on!

Jessica...so thrilled that you have started this blog! David and I have also been thinking of you often and I was planning on calling you the same day that you called me (as usual my plans were thwarted by the three-ring circus we call the Ranch...) However, I am now going to wait and call you this weekend because we are waiting on several opportunities that will hopefully be narrowed down by the end of the week. D has contacts at hospitals in Helena, Missoula, and Bozeman, plus a phone interview with a rehab facility in Orange County CA, and another contact in Billings. WE are still waiting on Chicago but I am starting to lose confidence in that one... Anyway, I hope to have news in a few days...Talk to you soon!
